A small town positioned high in the Hoang Kien Mountains of northwest Vietnam, Sapa offers a very different view of the country than that offered in Hanoi and other popular tourist destinations in the north. Hill Tribe Villages are the main attraction for visitors to the region. There are six main ethnic groups; Hmong, Tay, Dao, Day, Tho, and Nhang. The villages are within a few hours’ walking distance of each other, and each village has accommodations for guests.
