As an island, there is only one way to get to Koh Chang and that is by boat. It is a 45-minute boat ride from Trat on the southeast coast of Thailand near the Cambodian border. In the season ferries run hourly, and there are at least three launching points. Most visitors either arrive by arranged bus from Bangkok, with the transfer to the ferry arranged, or catch a taxi to the pier from the Trat airport.
