South Korea’s currency is the Won. While many shops, restaurants and hotels will accept credit cards, it is always advisable to carry cash on you as quieter areas and smaller shops will not accept cards. There are several ATMs located throughout the city but only limited machines offer services using an international bank card. Cash advances on credit cards can however be withdrawn at the ATMs.
