National Heritage Day, this day celebrating creative expression is now a national public holiday occurring in September. The nation’s language, social and cultural history and its unique cuisine are the primary areas of focus for the event. The purpose of the Heritage Day celebrations is to promote unity among peoples; and the government sets a theme each year for the holiday.
