A vaccination certificate is required only if you are coming into South Africa from an area that is infected with yellow fever. The requirement doesn’t apply to transit passengers or children under one year. It is recommended that visitors take precautions against the following diseases, depending on their destination in the country: cholera, dengue fever, hepatitis A and B, malaria, rabies and typhoid fever.
