Crete has a typically Mediterranean climate with scorching hot summers and mild, pleasant winters. July and August are the hottest and driest months of the year; you can expect temperatures in the low to mid 30s, which for some visitors might be just too hot. It is however a very busy time of year with the beaches typically packed with holidaymakers.
