There are many ways to get to Rovaniemi. The city boasts its own airport, which located about eight kilometres from the centre. It is also the main hub for trains, and buses which both offer regular and reliable services. By rail, most trains arrive to Rovaniemi from the south as the railway line extends just a little further north to Kemijarvi. The journey from Helsinki takes about 12 hours. Most trains have comfortable seats and sleepers. Motorists can also take their car with them on the train. The railway station is conveniently located next to the city centre. From the station, you can walk to the centre if you don’t have too many bags.
